MultiChoice launches DStv Acada scheme

MultiChoice, provider of premium pay-TV on the DStv and GOtv platforms has launched the DStv Acada Scheme, in furtherance of its effort to enrich lives.

The DSTV Acada Scheme is a youth enterprise initiative, with the objective of tapping into young minds, in order to offer them an opportunity to jump start their entrepreneurial abilities.

Speaking on the initiative, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria,  Mr. John Ugbe said the scheme remained a youth empowerment programme designed to assist our youth, to be economically independent. “We recognise that the Nigerian youth are the bedrock of tomorrow. They represent the collective dreams of a stable and prosperous society where business and productivity thrive,” he said.

Ugbe explained that the DStv Acada initiative would give potential young entrepreneurs an opportunity to market MultiChoice products and generate funds for themselves. “In essence, these young entrepreneurs will build on our work with the youth sector to help close the generational enterprise gap” he said.

While stating that the programme is geared towards developing the sales skills, of these young entrepreneurs, the General Manager Marketing and Sales, MultiChoice Nigeria, Mr. Martin Mabutho said: “By the end of the calendar year we would have enabled an estimated 20 000 youth gain marketing and sales skills”

Mabutho called on interested youths to send a text message to 1027 or fill a form via social media pages.

MultiChoice Nigeria has been involved in several youth initiatives such as the DStv Basketball league and the MultiChoice Resource Centres; an educational centre committed to the effective use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) for enhancing teaching, learning and management processes in the Nigerian education system. The MultiChoice Resource Centre project is currently up in 284 schools in 28 states across the country.
