FG launches Digital Girls ICT clubs

The Minister of Communication Technology, Mrs. Omobola Johnson, on Thursday, launched twelve Digital Girls ICT Clubs across the six geo political zones of the country.
Omobola  stated  that the initiative will help remove the barriers that discourage  girls from embracing ICTs.

She  said the project is aimed at bridging the yawning gap that has existed in ICT between the male and female genders, adding, that it has  the sole aim of positively impacting and improving the lives of women and girls across the country.

Johnson who spoke at the Federal Government Girls' College, Bwari, outskirt of Abuja, said the  administration of President Goodluck Jonathan created the gender empowerment scheme  in a bid to empower women and girls in Nigeria.
