Too Early, But Man City Are EPL Title Favourites...Here Are Facts - by @batundemusic

Titles are not won in August. Truth. However favourites are known from the beginning. Fact is, this Manchester City are showing strong signs that make them favourites. 3 matches, 8goals scored and 0 conceded is proof.

It is awesome to know that the 8goals were scored by 7 different players with skipper Vincent Kompany contributing one more than the remaining scorers. Coach Manuel Pellegrini has made some noteworthy tactical changes that make the team solid. City departed from their known 4 - 4 - 2 formation (with 2 strikers) to a 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 formation.

Toure due to his defensive vulnerability has been moved deeper beside Fernandinho to form a double pivot while Silva plays ahead of them in a hole behind the striker with two wingers (Sterling and Navas) on both sides. The Toure - Fernandinho double pivot combination of power, physicality and technic gives them defensive solidity in the middle. Silva, despite his wizadry, contributes a high work rate to close down and press from the front.

Eliaquim Mangala had a woeful debut season in 2014/2015 but has been solid and confident beside Kompany. This will make it hard for Otamendi to break into the team- a good headache for Pellegrini. Kompany is also back to his inspirational‎ form, leading from the back after the injury plagued of 2014/2015 season.

Up until now, David Silva had played on the left flank in a flat four man midfield. Deploying him in a hole ‎behind the striker is an astute tactical move by Pellegrini because these affords him freedom to work his magic and create danger around the box. His combination with Aguero is a nightmare for opponent centre backs.

The team is still evolving which means there are still areas that need to be fine-tuned ‎.  Their wastefulness is glaring to see. City create wave upon wave of chances and squander several of them before finding the back of net. This was evident against Chelsea and Everton. Profligacy only gives your opponent a chance to come back at you in a game.

Navas and Sterling on both flanks are not playing to full capacity yet thus their contributions and link up with Silva and Aguero in the middle is still erratic. The Raheem Sterling of Liverpool that attempted take ons with confidence against full backs is still on holiday. Pellegrini has to bring out the best in Raheem.

It will take a real stopping to overcome this Manchester City team. Defensively they are tight, offensively they are deadly, they are physical and technically endowed and they play with intensity. They are mean and stingy at the back but for now they lack ruthlessness and brutality ‎in front of goal which may cost them points at crucial moments.

Manchester City are FAVOURITES for the 2015/2016 EPL title.
