Last weekend, ART X Lagos celebrated its second edition showcasing an exciting programme of exhibitions, talks, performances and presentations at The Civic Centre in Victoria Island. Over 9,000 visitors attended this year’s fair bringing the event to a successful close on Sunday 5th November 2017.

Over the course of three days, there were several highlights including a groundbreaking conversation with 2017 MacArthur ‘Genius’ Njideka Akunyili Crosby, a powerful performance by Wura-Natasha Ogunji, and the high-energy showcase themed ‘Electric Africa: the Digital Orchestra’ at ART X Live!

History was re-lived in the present through the captivating presentation of Ben Enwonwu’s ‘seven wooden sculptures’, courtesy of the Access Bank private collection, and through poignant discussions on the importance of art and memory within the context of FESTAC ‘77 and the work of Lemi Ghariokwu.
